Quick shout out to my friends, The Kellys, for their musical debut on TBTL radio last night. Way to go dudes! Their fresh acapella/barbershop group is called Mamma's Boys. It membership is comprised of the three Kelly boys [Mike, Sean and Ian] and their substitute brother, Ben, while their real brother is finishing his missionary service in Argentina.
Mama's Boys was inspired by Kevin Kelly, the father of the family, who raised each boy to understand and appreciate the lost art of barbershop. And as the name suggests, their group is dedicated to their mother, Inga.
I still remember the good old days at Redmond High when some of these same boys tried recruiting me to be a part of their first barbershop group, The Testoster-tones . . .
Below, I have included a clip of their 40-minute interview with radio-personality, Luke Burbank. This clip was cut to feature one of their "more youthful" classic rock songs transcribed from the movie Anchorman. You all know it as Afternoon Delight.
Download it for free HERE. My favorite part was the "BI-UUE" slide during the beatbox sequence. It reminded me of something Bryson would do.

You've got to admit that Testoster-tones is a name teenage boys are sure to enjoy. Good for them following a musical dream!
ReplyDeleteWow--this is pretty awesome! Got any recording equipment?
