LOST-O-MANIA

I just finished watching LOST Season 3. It is a pseudo-addicting television program on ABC about the misadventures of 40 odd survivors of an international plane crash on a hostile island. SPOILER REVEALED BELOW: It takes 3 whole seasons to reveal each character's background before they are all allegedly rescued. THE END. Or is it?! Season 4 is out! The two good things that came out of the series is the following two songs: 1. The Girl-That-Gets-Shot's Theme 2. Desmond's Hatch Theme Here are some links to ABC.com so you may witness for yourself the compelling story that has consumed so many hours of so many peoples' lives. Watch from the very beginning or you can skip right to season 4 by watching the "Catch-up" episode found on the left column under "Lost Season 4". Then scroll to the very bottom to the episode called, "Lost: Past, Present, & Future" . WATCH, if you dare... (Dramatic Music: DUn-duN_DUNNN !)

The Fire Alarm Bandit--Still At Large

Suspected of setting off at least 3 Fire Alarms in ONE day! Incident #1: A couple of weeks ago, I was shopping for dress pants as Ross when the fire alarm went off. At a department store! Has that ever happened to you? I was amazed to see the reactions of certain shoppers. A couple of Hispanic ladies ran straight for the door. I couldn't tell if they dropped their merchandise or not. (Maybe that was their ploy all along.) Others just kept on shopping under the flashing lights and blazing sirens. I didn't have anything particular that I wanted to buy so I just walked out after a little while. Disturbing though. What was more disturbing was that there more more alarms to go off that day. Incident #2: At BYU Club Night on campus, the entire WILK had to be evacuated. I was going into the ballroom Country Dance Club after Tai Chi when the alarm sounded. RATS! Now what was I going to do? Incident #3: I decided to spend my stolen time swimming at the gym. Wouldn't you...

"Push Hands"

I spared for the first time ever last Tuesday night. After Tai Chi club was over, I asked the master, a man in sweatpants named Art, to teach me more about an exercise I saw him doing some weeks ago with an advanced student called Push Hands. He took about 15 minutes and gave me some basic instruction including philosophy, technique, and a memorized form. I felt really cool. We were practicing in the garden court in the WILK so everyone passing by the glass windows would stop and stare in amazement. Art would encourage me to relax and rotate from the hips by reciting classic anecdotes like, "Seek not to contend" and "a supple willow contends not against the storm, yet it survives."

Dream Update X

The storyline of the dream has all but vanished from my mind as I'm writing this hours after I woke up. I can still remember one pretty unique event: I was being carried away against my will in a helicopter with a few other abductees. One of the prisoners climbed out of the helicopter in an effort to escape. We were only 50 feet off of the ground so I'm sure he thought he could jump and only sustain some broken legs or something. Unfortunately, as he leapt from the side rail, the neck of his shirt snagged on the rail and he dangled helplessly from the ascending helicopter. None of our captors seemed to notice that he had tried to escape and no one was making any effort to try to save him--so I took matters into my own hands. I climbed out onto the rail myself. By this point, the neckline of his shirt had torn so much that he was actually dangling about 20 feet from the helicopter. There was no way I could pull him up without tearing the shirt completely. My eyes scanne...

I Don't Like My Roommate Hunter

This post is dedicated to my unlucky roommate Hunter whom I hardly ever do anything nice for because, to my un-Christ-like dismay, I enjoy seeing him wallow in his own suffering. Hunter often feels overwhelmed by the many poor relationships he has endured. I imagine he might identify with the emotions and pains felt by the male bunny below; in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he could attribute girls names to each of the following pictures: Have I ever felt this way? Probably. Definitely. Thankfully, though, enough time has past that I'm beginning to forget. Assuredly, anyone who has loved before can empathize with this poor guy. Feel free to leave me a comment with a name or a story--go ahead and get it off you chest. They say that the pain of rocky relationships dwindles every time you share your feelings openly. p.s. If you are married, save it for a different venue. ----------------
