A Message of Hope for Christian Singles!

When I first saw this still image (above), I honestly thought she was holding onto a blowup doll. (I think it was his haircut.) Then I realized it was the street-evangelical, beat-poet who made a big splash a couple of years ago with his viral video, " Love God, Hate Religion ."  Apparently he's married now and doling out relationship advice, together, with is charming wife. In this 30-minute video recording, the newly weds respond to relationship questions from their myriad of Christian, social media followers.  Their expressions of faith, hope, and encouragement speak to a young generation of humble seekers of truth.  The question on all of their minds— how can I be single and a disciples of Jesus a the same time?   The accessible and heartfelt tone of this couple's message makes it easy to listen to, regardless of the viewer's religious denomination.  Not everyone will agree on the ontological underpinnings upon which their views are founded, but—I don't...

New Singles Ward FHE Co-Chair: Building a Fellowshipping Program from the Ground Up

The LDS singles ward is an enigmatic creature within the ecclesiastical kingdom. No one really knows how to classify nor maintain them. Purposes and regulations aimed at families must be massaged and molded to fit the needs of the dis-enfamilied young, Basically, singles ward leaders study the church administration manuals, then simply take their best shot at making interpretations to meet their wards' needs. For example, I have never been clear on how to adapt the direction provided in the  LDS Church Handbook of Instruction  regarding family-oriented programs, like Family Home Evening (FHE) for singles wards. These disenfranchised young single adults (YSAs), primarily comprises of unwed students and young professionals, congregate together in search of love and support (whether they realize their need or not).
