When I first saw this still image (above), I honestly thought she was holding onto a blowup doll. (I think it was his haircut.) Then I realized it was the street-evangelical, beat-poet who made a big splash a couple of years ago with his viral video, "Love God, Hate Religion." Apparently he's married now and doling out relationship advice, together, with is charming wife.
In this 30-minute video recording, the newly weds respond to relationship questions from their myriad of Christian, social media followers. Their expressions of faith, hope, and encouragement speak to a young generation of humble seekers of truth. The question on all of their minds—how can I be single and a disciples of Jesus a the same time? The accessible and heartfelt tone of this couple's message makes it easy to listen to, regardless of the viewer's religious denomination. Not everyone will agree on the ontological underpinnings upon which their views are founded, but—I don't care who you are—you've got to respect what their beliefs have yielded in terms of the faithful disciples and responsible citizens they've become.
Old Twitter Proverb: "Dating without the intent of getting married is like going to the grocery store with no money—you either leave feeling unsatisfied or you end up taking something that isn't yours." (Minute 20:15)
They're very sensible and likable people, but I was NOT expecting her voice to sound like that.
ReplyDeleteHer voice is pretty high, huh. I, personally, got hung up on his football-helmet head of hair—so distracting! My eyes were continually being drawn to it. By the end though, I had adjusted.
ReplyDeleteBoth of these examples just stand as a testament to me that despite our physical drawbacks (or spiritual, emotional, social, mental, or whatever), we can ALL be powerful witnesses for our beliefs.
