Someone suggested that I host a "name contest" on the blog. I feel like this is a stupendous idea! Well, let's go ahead and list our potential names here in the comments box. You are welcome to pose up to three names a piece. Then, in a few days, I'll build a thingy on the sidebar so that everyone who has invested interest can vote for 2. (Then I'll pick the real winner.) The real winner will be mailed a prize valued at just more than what I will have to pay for postage!
May the best name win!
p.s. Thanks Dad for tipping me off about Amica Insurance. I thought I needed to shop around, but you have proven once again to be the angle opposite the hypotenuse . . . (wait for it) You're always RIGHT!
First idea for my car name was "Hamlet" because it starts with an "H" just like "Honda. Plus it sounds sophisticated.
ReplyDeleteBut then, I thought it should sound a little more playful and female. Maybe, "Sasha".
snow leopard
ReplyDeleteHow many entries do I get? If you're going for the H Honda sound, I'd recommend Hero, the girl from Much Ado About Nothing.
ReplyDeleteThe only other name that jumps right to mind was Roz.
I also like Sasha or Sonja.
Ok, here's what I'm thinking.
ReplyDelete1. Halle or Jalepeno (short for "White Hot Jalepeno") that way it's sophistocated, feminine but also takes the H sound from Honda and reminds you of its hispanic origins!
2. My other name of hispanic theme is a little more gender neutral: Jefe.
3. Una: named after unicorn since sleek white cars kind of make me think of the last unicorn. (Why can't I see myself in your eyes?!?!?!) (I love love love love love LOOOOOVE you.)
I think that it should be Abe. Because despite everything else, you want to get from A to B.
ReplyDeleteRick wrote me a seprate email suggesting either:
ReplyDelete1. Albus
2. Gandalf
After the two great fictional white wizards.
Ooh, Gandalf, I like it. I also like Heather's suggestion of Hero. I like Gandalf, but you could call him Ghandi for short (salt is white...)
ReplyDeleteWhy am I lobbying for someone else? I still like Halle the best. It's a girl.
Besta doesn't know how to leave comments so she wrote me an email too.
ReplyDeleteShe proposes:
Whitey. (Very simple and direct.)
Her second option is "Mowartay". (You'd have to know her in order to understand her accent.)
Congratulations! It's a GIRL!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo, Blanca, short for Chiquita Blanquita (calling a spade a spade and I agree on the Hispanic origins) or...
White Lightnin', Whitie for short and the Beeg and I split the stamp
OR....if you insist on a metro-sexual feel, Dickie (short for Moby Dick) Just call me Ishmael...
These comments are from Dad:
ReplyDelete#1 Harmony: to show you are in complete Accord with your wheels and with the universe
#2 McQueen: a nod to White Lightening and to Tanner
#3 Paloma: the white dove of peace (this is really Mom using my last choice!)
Stef seems too ocupada to take her three guesses, so I'm going to continue on with:
ReplyDelete1) Luna (the moon's white light reminds us of the Lord's hand always subtly guiding us...)
2) Coco - just a fun, sweet playful name that's fun to say (coconut in espanol)
3) Sugar Sugar is pure white and reminds us that life is sweet and beautiful!
I like coco and luna. But I'm going to nix Harmony since that is one of my real life baby name choices. Having you name a car that would just be too weird. Maybe you should just name your car: Chris. :)
ReplyDeletei like jalapeno the best :) I like noelle's reasoning.
ReplyDeleteThank you again for leaving your hyperlink on the gchat column so I can come visit more often! (Still like Sugar and Coco much better than Moby and Harmony and Gandolf! :)
ReplyDeleteSo, did you decide? You could name her "Joan Wilder, the Joan Wilder!"
ReplyDeleteLuna is pretty cool.
