Tonight, I attended a musical performance featuring a number of local choirs. The first narrator stood up startled me when he said, "In this time of the year, when we celebrate the birth of Christ. . ." WAIT! WHAT? Christmas was months ago, Bro.
Then I remembered, modern scripture has revealed that Christ was born on April 6th (D&C 20:1). This is why Christ commanded that His Church be physically reorganized on this date in 1830.
As we approach this commemorative date, LDS congregations will gather in chapels and meeting houses across the world to receive counsel and commandment from living prophets; These general church authorities have been called and given priesthood authority to preach the restored gospel of Christ and be special witness of Him on earth, acting in his name. The 179th Annual General Conference of the Church will be held on Saturday and Sunday, April 4-5, 2009 starting at 10am MST. Speakers will include the First Presidency and other General Authorities and general officers of the Church.
* Let's say you wanted your friend in Thailand when and where they would be able to see conference. You can see the broadcast schedule pdf for worldwide broadcast times here. They can also watch and listen to it live at LDS.org.
* Now let's say that you want to listen to your favorite talk ASAP after the conference has ended. Find out when those resources will become available by clicking on this resource.
Peace be with you.
