Funny Images from Around the Internet (November 28, 2008)

1. Bad Hair Day - Some days there just isn't a thing you can do with your hair. I'm sure we've all experienced this to some degree in the last 10 days; and we all have our own way of dealing with it. As for myself, I chose to do nothing about it. When I feel like this sheep, I embrace the chaos, then move past it. 2. Not Real. But seriously, how awesome would it be to have EVERYTHING taste a little bit like strawberries. Imagine: Hot Coco, Cold Cereal, Chicken Salad, the list goes on... 3. Real. and Sick. 4. Cool costume. A little bit morbid, but cool. The only materials you need to make this mousey creation is a couple of brown grocery bags, some fur from the fabric store, wrapping paper tubes, tin foil, some construction paper, scissors and glue! 5. Kids love to dance - It doesn't matter who their partner is. Now that I've been away from ballroom dance for almost 2 years, I feel like I can say, without prejudice, that my favorite form ...

My Great Thanksgiving Pie Disaster

(Not my pie) So I received an invitation to go to Spanish Fork for Thanksgiving Lunch with Uncle Mark. It was terrific! We enjoyed great food and had wonderful bonding time. Even my pumpkin pie disaster didn't ruin the joy of the family gathering. I told them in my email RSVP that I would try to bake a pie and buy one if it that didn't work out... I have, in fact, made real pumpkin pie from real pumpkins before. Despite my confidence in pie-making however, I was unable to reproduce success from years past. Let's just say that I melted the pie crust. In an attempt to sweep my pie-goulash under the rug, I decided to buy a luxury pie from Maceys: Marie Calander's! I put the pie in the freezer for the night and took it out in the morning just before cooking it in the oven. I read the following instructions: I followed them to the letter. I even gave it two hours to cool. I put it on a cooking sheet for safer transport. I had my first suspicion of disa...

Dream Journal: The Oriental Wizard (November 25, 2008)

Last night I wasn't Special Ops as per usual; I was a rogue wizard! I did however work for an internationally renowned media mogul and then when I quit after only 3 weeks I traveled away with a band of no-good Chinese pirates. Here are some of the magic spells I could perform: 1. While I worked as a landscaper for the media mogul, I spent most of my time on a makeshift bridge that blocked six of the eight lanes of freeway that it crossed. With my magical powers I was able to shoot electric current at the oncoming traffic to control each vehicle and smoothly guide them through the two open lanes at 50 mph. 2. I created tiny whirlwinds that picked up the trash along the freeway that resulted in collecting them into piles for my fellow team mates to put into bags. 3. I used my mental abilities in my dismissal interview to get an extra $500 as a termination bonus. 4. As I escaped I ended up in an underground river passage. Pirates were close behind me. I used my magic ...

The job description includes helping stick needles in people! 2. A Model for an upstanding academy of art: The Bridge Academy in Provo. Here are some jobs I wouldn't enjoy Handyman Police force anywhere but in America Large Animal Vertranarian Overworked... Seriously overworked...

My First Cold of the Season: "The Drainer"

I hate getting sick. This cold came on fast. I felt the germs coming on Tuesday morning and by Wednesday afternoon they were in full swing. We'll see how long the little bugger will last. I feel like I've been drained of all my bodily liquids. This means no donating plasma for a while. (FYI, sold plasma is used as active ingredients in expensive lotions and shampoos. It also has a shelf life of a decade.) What I should have tried: Flu Shot Airbourn Tablets Not playing Ultimate Frisbee Tuesday night Due to unpopular demand, I have replaced the graphic sniveling "cold" picture with this new censored version. If you have any "motherly" advice for me over the next few days or to prevent common colds in the future, please leave me your comments below. Thanks. ---------------- Listening to: Mandarin Foundation Disc 1 - Track 06
