Dream Journal: Chinese Track and Field (February 28, 2008)

Last night I dreamed I was an international pilot, but I wasn't a very good one. My co-pilot and I slept most of the way over. An Attendant came back to the cockpit and gently reminded us that we were supposed to be in Tokyo, not Hong Kong. I tried to explain that it was just a detour. [In reality, I had forgotten to type in the new return coordinates to Tokyo after flying from Hong Kong to LA. Once we landed in Hong Kong, I somehow convinced all 400 passengers over the intercom that Hong Kong was really the destination where they wanted to be anyway, despite most of them not being able to speak the language. Once there, I decided it would be a good idea to pick up a new profession. Fortunately, I was approached by a Chinese University Track and Field Coach. He offered me a position on the team. Despite having a program about a sophisticated as my Junior High School, I readily accepted. He told me that the only way any of us were going to be able compete was if I took t...

Tetris Addition

I just added 2 Tetris games. I'm going to keep one of them. The first is on the top left side panel and the second is at the bottom center of the page. I like the bottom game play because it shows where it will fall into place and it immediately falls into place. However, I also like how the first one fits in the side, kind of. Even though it cuts off the preview and score, I still like it. Which one do you prefer? What level should I start it on? Right now, it is on Zero.

Dream Journal: Deathnote (February 27, 2008)

Sunday - If I fall asleep, someone dies. Once, I am asleep though, I have a chance to save the victim if I can locate them quickly enough once I'm in a dream state. I killed like six people, zero survivors. I obviously didn't sleep well that night. Monday - I'm an invisible spy. I didn't complete many missions before someone sniped off my business with extra-sharp shears. I didn't want to be a spy after that. Tuesday - I traveled to the Pacific to see a fat, Samoan pirate "Grind" [Skateboarding term for sliding] the entire length of the rail on his pirate ship on his behind. HE DID IT! IT WAS THE MOST AMAZING THING I'D EVER SEEN! It was all in the arms. First, he propelled himself out of the water below, like a dolphin. Then, with his arms raised, he sustained a slow, yet controlled, slide at least 50 feet as he breathed out and lowered his arms to his sides. Wednesday  - I'm invisible again. This time, I use my powers to sneak ...

It's been a SPORTS weekend!

Monday at the gym, I was invite to attend a BYU for a mid-semester ballroom dance social on Wednesday night by a girl I knew back when. She said that a few of my friends were performing. Initially, I wanted to just go see them and skip out on the dance part. (I didn't know how awkward it would be for a graduate to go to a function with beginning students.) However, I decided, "What the heck?" and put on a tie and went. It was a lot of fun. I'd forgotten how fun it was to run into all the different couples out there on the floor. This social was different for me than any other I'd been to--I was much more relaxed. Despite not remembering most of the syllabus dance moves, I still had a great time because I didn't care about the "moves". I also enjoyed running into old partners and friends from team. Kristi from Estonia , an old, latin dance partner, who is on the intermediate dance team now, invited me to be her "Open Routine" partne...

If I were to work for the Government, I would want to be. . .

And the answer is: FBI Linguist -I'd get to use my language skills -Serve the country in directing policy -I'd get to read tons and understand more about Latin America -Analyze and interpret data -Figure out the Latin American psych -9-5pm -Benefits One major drawback is that I would be confined to a small group of colleagues. I enjoyed another visit with that Career Counselor from Singapore this morning. Today, we talked about the Campbell test and what bearing that had on my current [unemployed] situation. He accused me of being a "window shopper", which I am. He told me to go out and DO what I like to do. Up until now, I've been a real pansy when it comes to actively pursuing my career interests. (I've also noticed a startling correlation between my career search and my social life.) What I need to do is volunteer, get internships, and then, jobs with benefits. Once I've found something I want to really pursue, go back to school for a Masters Degr...
