I maintain a firm policy: NO DATING GIRLS UNDER 21!
My home teachers came over today and told me about their significant others. One was dating a "mature" 18-year-old dancer and my other home teacher was engaged to a 19-year-old girl. After a minute of thought, I shared the fact that the year I graduated high school (2000), their significant others were still playing on the elementary school monkey bars.
My home teacher argued, "if they are living away from home and are cute--it's all good." After about a 20-minute lesson, intermingled with "Old Man" jokes focused towards me, my home teacher then added, "you've got to strike while the iron is hot! You're not getting any younger lad, and from here on out, the dating pool will only get smaller."
I find this logic difficult to accept. From my experience, dating pools not only get bigger as age increases, they also get better. Please consult the charts and graphs below:

That makes me sick that he said that! I am 23 and not married...so does that make me not as "hot"?
ReplyDeleteAmen on the getting better. I feel almost sorry for the people who dated me when I was 18. On the other hand, we also get more set in our ways as we get older, making it harder to adjust to bringing someone into your life...
ReplyDeleteI just want you to find someone who loves and appreciates you and who knows how to work hard and trust God. Doesn't matter what the age is. Within reason, of course.
ReplyDeleteDon't be too picky on the age. Phil made that rule right before he met me and I wouldn't be 21 until 3 months later.
