It's time for round 2 of a fun game I like to call, "GUESS THAT MOVIE CHARACTER!" We played on this blog a
couple of years ago! To make this game fun:
- Read the quotes in order. (I tried to order the 10 quotes with the most difficult ones first.)
- When you think you know the name of the character, make your guess in the comment section below. (Share how quickly you got it.)
- Then go back and check to see if you got the correct answer.
- The game ends Sunday, Feb. 24th, at which point I will post your replies and you can see how you all did.
Movie Character Quotes:
"It's true that Mavis and Sybil have ways that are winning, and Prudence and Gwendolyn set your heart spinning! Phoebe's delightful, Maude is disarming..."
"You know, begging your pardon, but the one my heart goes out to is your father. There he is in that cold, heartless bank day after day, hemmed in by mounds of cold, heartless money. I don't like to see any living thing caged up."
"You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone... Though childhood slips like sand through a sieve..."
[CHARACTER OF INTEREST]: "It reminds me of me brother. He got a nice cushy job at a watch factory."
[SECONDARY CHARACTER]: "At a watch factory? What does he do?"
[CHARACTER OF INTEREST]: "He stands about all day... and makes faces!"
[OUR CHARACTER OF INTEREST]: "All right, I'll do it myself!"
[MOVIE'S MAIN CHARACTER]: "Do what?"
[OUR CHARACTER OF INTEREST]: "Bit o' magic!"
"All right, ladies an' gents! Comical poem! Suitable for the occasion, extemporized and thought up before your very eyes! All right, 'ere we go!"
"Winds in the east, mist coming in. Like somethin' is brewin' and bout to begin. Can't put me finger on what lies in store, but I fear what's to happen all happened before."
"When dukes or maharajahs pass the time o' day wi' me, I say me special word and then they ask me out to tea!"
[MOVIE'S MAIN CHARACTER about OUR CHARACTER OF INTEREST] "He traveled all around the world, and everywhere he went, he'd use his word, and all would say, "There goes a clever gent!"
"What did I tell ya? There's the whole world at your feet. And who gets to see it but the birds, the stars, and the chimney sweeps."

*Next Day Addendum: Wow! I don't mean to give away the results, but this post was obviously too easy for most of you guys. I'm going to need to step up my game. Next Sunday, prepare to enter the world of late-90s fantasy! Better bone up now! (Here's the link.)
I got it on the fourth word of your first quote. Didn't need to reveal the answer.

ReplyDeleteFun game! Although I got it on the first one thanks to it being a lyric to one of the songs....I would say if I were to re-order them in order most difficult to least it would be:
