- I thought, "YES! Back in school! I love all of these classes, and they all fit so perfectly; nothing overlaps. I can do this!"
- When I realized I was way over the recommended 9-12 credit load for full-time students, I then thought, "I've done it before at USU. I think one semester I took somewhere between 18-22 credits. If I could do it once, I can do it again. Plus, I'm only working 5-10 hours/week. If I'm not working at least 20-hours/week, this is an opportunity to use that time doing school work."
- When my conscience tried to warn me again, I thought, "Shut up, Conscience! I am walking into this program halfway through the school year. I have to catch up. Plus taking a lot of credits is cool. Plus it will keep me from wasting time. Plus it's a better credit-to-tuition ratio."
- There. It's settled then.
- Wait. Maybe I should drop just a couple of classes. I'll thank myself later...
- I ended up registering 20.5 credits! I dropped a 3-credit Assessment class on Thursdays at 4pm and a 380 social dance class on Monday nights.
- The image above says I have a conflict, but in reality, there isn't one. The Wednesday symposium is an hour in the classroom and then an hour is scheduled (but not required) in the banquet room (meant for mingling with visiting presentors), but I only spend 15 minutes in the eating and chatting before going to my Intro to Education Evaluation Research class.
- Wednesdays are killers! I need to bring at least three full meals with me to snack on throughout the day. At 8pm, I always go to Wendys for two items on their dollar menu.
- What I didn't plan for was the amount of work I'd need to do outside of class. For every hour of class, I do about 2-4 hours of work outside of class. That means I'm up late every night and up early every morning. As it is, I don't have enough time in the week to complete all the assignments. So here's my current strategy: work hard on prioritized assignments during a scheduled block of time set aside for any given class. When that block is over, it's over.
- Pray for me.
WOW, Wednesdays will be long for you. Lookin' good
