While searching Craigslist for Provo jobs, I came across a "barter" posting for chiropractic work. The deal was---I give Dr. Moore 3 canned goods and he gives me a free consultation.
I went to Dr. Moore twice this last week, once to take measurements and to capture some x-rays of my neck and hips. The next visit was to review the xrays and watch an "instructional" video to cast the fear of God into my bones so that I would fork out $35 for a two-minute adjustment.
Here are some of the phone photos of the xrays:
My neck is supposed to follow the green line. From the side, my ears are supposed to be directly over my shoulders.
This dotted line is what my neck is actually doing. It's a phase one sublocution. That just means there is slight misalignment, but no significant trauma.
Imagine the weight of a bowling ball carefully balanced on your head by a system of neck, shoulder, and back muscles. Since I learned that, I imagine that my head really is a bowling ball and I have to carefully balance it as it precariously wobbles on my shoulders. (That is NOT my real spine on the chair.)
Oh, and my left hip is apparently 10 millimeters lower than my right. That's my belt buckle in the middle and don't ask me what those staples are doing in my duodenum. (They must be attaching a tag to the inside of my denim jeans.)
On my way out of the office, I was given a hot/cold gel pack and a coupon for a free Intelligel Seat Cushion from My Comfort mattress store. The story continues the following day...
That's so funny, so you're not forking out the 35 buckeroos I take it? That was a funny x-ray with your belt buckle and the staples. I'm surprised he so willingly hands out x-rays...those things can't be cheap.
ReplyDeleteVerrrry interesting! Your spine looks in fantastic shape to my untrained eye! And it sure looks to me like there's a thong on that pelvis in the bottom ex-ray. But again, untrained eye...
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your innermost parts with us Bryan. The question is - do you feel better after the adjustment?
ReplyDeleteMy fav is the staples in the duodenum line.
ReplyDeletei liked seeing them in person! THe zipper is super cool. And did you actually get adjusted?
