To assuage the loss of my beta fish, Little G, I decide to go to Jungle Jay's Pet Store and buy 11 new feeder fish, and a giant bowl to put them all in. I had such a difficult time recovering from Killer's death that I thought if I went over-kill on the distractions, I wouldn't have time to go through the grieving process. So far, it's working.
This is Thing 1 and Thing 2. They are in my room. They are pretty much identical except for a little white mark on the bottom of one of them that looks like a one.
This is a shot of the bowl sitting on top of my dresser. It is about a 2 liter vase filled with about 4" of rocks and has two shoots of bamboo in there too.
This is Brain. He's got a large noggin, accentuated by a big orange mark on the top of his head.
This is BP (Bits and Pieces). He is 3x smaller than the rest of the fish. He gets his name by the way he acquires food. He lets larger fish, like Brain, crush the food flakes and he swims around the bottom to pick up the pieces.
This is Emo. He's dead. When he was still alive, he just looked like he wished he were dead.
This is Tiger. You can see the black strip down his back with orange on either side. He is so feisty.
This is Spot. He has this single dot right on the center of his head.
This is Finnegan. You can see on the right side of the picture, he's got one orange side fin and the rest of his body is totally white. He also has an orange ring around his left eye that looks like he's been in a pub-fight. Fin + Fighter = Finnegan.
This is Norman. He is enormous. He is also very, very normal-looking; thus the name Norman.
This is "Three-Spots" Morgan. We call him "Three-Spots" because he has one spot on each of his three fins. The name is also a tribute to the fictional, but still Great, British Grifter, "Three-Socks" Morgan.
This slippery one is Fredo (Short for Alfredo, like in The Godfather.) He slinks around in the shadows of the others and is the greasy, rat mobster of the school. It took me 20 pictures to finally get a clear shot of him.
*Special thanks to both Amanda and Liz for going with me to pick them out!
Very creative names Bryan. :) I can't believe you have so many fish-- who knew you'd be such a pet lover!
ReplyDeleteGreat names. Sorry about Emo. Why is your watch submerged?
ReplyDeleteYeah Amanda told me that you bought more! So you've decided against another frog?
ReplyDeleteAlso, anytime you need someone to go with you to pick out animals at Jay's (or an alternate pet store of your choosing), let us know!
I love it. Say hello to your new friends for me. :)
ReplyDeleteWhy the number 11? The number looks like two dukes up for a fight...are you anticipating one? How many cubic inches of water are provided for 11 (or now 10) fish?
