Notice: I'm Now Reserving Blogger for Original Content

Oh, btw, I've been posting all my crazy creative stuff on  Tumblr  for the last year or two. I've also been keeping up an " AmericansinBrazil " blog on Tumblr.  Check 'em out if you want. I didn't realize it until now, but this division of places to post kind of reserves this blogspot space for personal stuff.  We'll see if I lose page visits after a while... (I doubt it, as long as my " Muscle-Bound Bodies " and " Totoro Halloween Costume "posts continue to rake in 100 views/day.)

The Secret Lives of Princesses

My new favorite book I wholeheartedly recommend this to all of my sisters and nieces.  I was enthralled for at least 30 minutes, and I was in a hurry!  Philippe (copy) and Rébecca (illustrations) are geniuses! Website $10 on Amazon

The Allen Edwards Experience

A photo I took of an Israeli cobbler in Old Jerusalem Fellow Men, Shoe shopping is not as horrifically boring as I first thought! Now that my current pair of $50 black work shoes is coming undone, I intend to seek out and purchase a ridiculously comfortable shoe—one step down from flying to Italy and having shoes made by a *cordwainer of impeccable ancestry. THE most comfortable shoe I have ever worn was crafted by Allen Edwards. I found it at a Nordstrom rack for a terrific price, but the size was just too small. So I went to get my foot sized at the new Allen Edwards men's shoe store at the City Creek Mall, SLC, UT, USA. As the two ladies catered to my every pedal need, they informed me that I have a very abnormal foot.  The arch is exceptionally high for a man's foot and set back toward the heel.  This means that while planted, my foot measures a size 7.5D US. It's actually thinner than that at rest (7.5E).  I never knew!  I assumed I would be at lea...

How NOT to Use an Ear Candle

I gave my good friend, Jason Hills, earwax candles for his birthday.  He was kind enough to demonstrate how to use them on camera.  Like a Boss. (Spoiler: He had to learn to use them the hard way...)

Pick 2 Tees for Me

I'm going to buy two of these t-shirts tomorrow.  Help me decide which ones.  Also, can you catch all the references?  (I think "Lone Pine" is the most obscure.)  Here they are, ordered favorite to least favorite: Business in the Front Overwhelming Song of Storms I Potion Zelda Lone Pine Mall Keep the Change Haters Gonna Hate

Kony 2012, Slacktivists Unite!

Rebel leader, Kony, has been  terrorizing  Uganda for 26 years, using his criminal gang to abduct young Ugandans and use them as child soldiers, and he is at the top of the International Criminal Court's most wanted list. The  #kony2012   campaign has been trending on Twitter this week and since  Monday, March 5th 2012, their  video has received close to 10 million views on YouTube since it was uploaded two days ago. Having done a quick survey of the Uganda situation online, I have formed the following opinion: THESE MOVEMENT ORGANIZERS ARE GOING TO BE MAKING A LOT OF MONEY THIS YEAR! The Occupy Wallstreet Movement is over.  The world is ripe with problems. [Need stablished.]  Online charities have exploded in popularity and t he social-media audience is hungry. [Product to feed the need.]   The Internet is the new venue for fulfilling the American dream!   Finally the socially-frustrated 99%ers have been handed...
