The First Pictures of My New Car

2006 Honda Accord EX SE (Special Edition) : I looked at about 15 cars last week. This one was the most luxurious, the most powerful, and the most marked down! My mechanic in Provo is selling it to me off of his lot for $100 less than the price he could get for it at auction. That's $2000 below low book! The reason he want to move it is because his market is Latina Housewives who can't drive a stick. For many of his customers, this is the first car they will have ever driven. My gain. I'll be selling Lenny for $1300. Great deal for such a giving vehicle! I'll be posting adds this next week on KLS.com and craigslist.

Original Composition: See Me Beautiful

These are lyrics to a song I wrote one week at EFY in 2006. I was inspired to put my thoughts down on paper after seeing SOOO many teenage girls struggling with self-image issues. After three years, I just found the paper tucked away in my seminary scriptures that were recently returned to me. I had thought that they had been stolen by some needy EFY participant back in the day, but it turns out they've been sitting in some person's apartment at the Raintree Apartments for the last three years; I guess I left them at a home teaching appointment and forgot about them. Anyway, this song is far from being completed; it's only a first draft. In fact, I probably will never do anything with it. But I hope you enjoy the gist of what is there: See Me Beautiful Girl's Part: Daughter of heaven Here for a moment in time Away from the Father Becoming a woman sublime Some days it's so easy To forget who I really am The robes of the world look so appealing a...

My Macbook is in the Shop for the Week

Is it normal to celebrate birthdays of possessions? I purchased my Macbook three years ago to the week! The apple care warranty final expired, so I took it in to the Simply Mac store to have them replace the cracked top case and see it they can fix a little problem with a flickering display. In the meantime, no new pictures. And probably, less posts. But by the end of the week, I'll have my baby back; bright and shiny-new! But what will I do without it in the meantime? I'm just going to have to socialize more and play more volleyball.

My 2009 Volleyball Injury

After almost a full Summer of nearly perfect health, I finally sustained my first acute injury while playing volleyball after FHE on Monday. The muscles on the lateral side of my right tibia had been sore for the previous four days. Finally, after one fell jump, I collapsed when my right leg gave out. No pops or snaps fortunately, which means no ligament damage. I've just been icing, heating and wrapping it everyday. Hopefully I'll be back on the court by Saturday. I'm dissapointed that I am unable to do my full P90X workouts in the meantime either. Instead of playing volleyball, I have to be content with watching. Check out this truly amazing rally between these two Canadian teams:

10 Christian Misconceptions of Islam

Background story I went to USU on Tuesday to make preparations for my move up there in a month. One of the houses I'm still looking into has a devote Muslim living there named Hussein. He is from Egypt and is currently working on a PhD. We spent about 15-20 minutes discussing religion while I was there. He asked me a lot about the BYU "Beard Card" and I asked him about making ablutions. Here are 10 Christian misconceptions about Muslims. For example, misconception #4: Muslims are savages and barbaric during war Quite the contrary, when it comes to the conduct of war there are ten rules that every Muslim soldier must obey: 1. Do not commit treachery 2. Do not deviate from the right path 3. Do not mutilate dead bodies 4. Do not kill children 5. Do not kill women 6. Do not kill aged men 7. Do not harm or burn trees 8. Do not destroy buildings 9. Do not destroy an enemy’s flock, unless you use it for your food 10. When you pass people who have devoted...
