Friday at 6:30pm, about 30 kids from my ward drove up Provo Canyon to Sundance where we hiked about 3 miles to Stewart Falls. It was a moderately difficult hike with a lot of leaf cover. It was fun to walk with so many people because I was able to jump from one cluster of people to the next and get to know a lot of folks I haven't met before. This is a picture of my crazy hometeachee. If you blow up the picture you can see her scaling the rock face. Before we started on the trail, we ran into a group of young men who had just finished a lesson on the Armor of God and were about to wail on each other with those foam-covered bats. This is the most painful and humiliating story I've ever heard and had to share. Chattn' it up with the 22.3 lb. "personal computer" while she's rockn' the 70's tape recorder. He got stuck. This picture represents $40 worth of Raisin Bran. Yeah, I went a little bit overboard. I blame this loss of control on three things: I went shopping at Macys. EVERYTHING there is so incredibly inexpensive to begin with that I simply couldn't resist the "Savings" urge. (3 boxes for $7!) In addition to the initial savings, Kellogg included an extra coupon to boot! Teh manufacturer pays back $4 for every four boxes you buy. Faith is a little Rockstar! Rose & I had her over for an afternoon of guitar hero an hotdogs this week. Rose was very talented but she lacked a certain stage presence that Faith brought to each song...in excess. She would headbang and leap off of imaginary speakers and she even feigned smashing the electronic guitar on the ground at the end of one of the songs. (She probably would have actually followed through had I not grabbed it just before contact. "I wasn't really..." she reassured me long afterwards.) To top off the afternoon, I assessed Faith with her mom's permission.
