"I'll Be Your Friend"

I participated in a weird phenomenon today.  I was walking through the snow, on my way to class.  Ahead of me, walked a big girl—probably a freshman or sophomore.  Since I couldn't get a good look at her face, I based my guess on the fact that she was picking handfuls of snow off of the evergreen bushes, crushing them in her large hands, and slinging them aimlessly into other piles of snow. I gradually lessened the distance between us.  (I should also mention that I have a habit of walking almost silently.  It's a consequence of years of ballroom dance and subconsciously wanting to be a ninja.) She hovered near the inside of the sidewalk where the snow was good for the getting, so I began to pass her on the street side.  With any luck, I would be able to pass her by completely unobserved.  Just as I was about to turn to cross the street and into oblivion, she turned into me. This is where the strange part happened: " I'll BeYourFriend!!?! Oh, sorry...

Dream Journal: Marriage Adventurer (Jan 5th, 2013)

Here are the high and lowlights from last night's dream: DREAM LOW-LIGHT: I lived on a modern-day, family-owned farm, located far away from “civilization.” (It should be known that I am not a farmer. However, I’ve always thought a farm is a great place to raise a family.) A grand party was thrown on our estate and to my delight the girl of my (literal) dreams walked in. Naturally, I proposed marriage on the spot.  Later, as we were walking into the marriage room, my dear old dad was waving around a large, wrapped present—arguing with everyone regarding how and when it should be (inappropriately) presented during the sacred ceremony.  (FYI, Dad's always been particular about arranging Xmas presents under the tree.)  Amidst the commotion, I seized the opportunity to lean over to my mom and ask my bride's name, having completely forgotten it. DREAM HIGH-LIGHT: I didn't care for that dream very much so I decided to fall back asleep and try again.  In anot...

Image Source I found this handy list of 10 things a person must do to secure happiness for themselves in this life written by a modern-day LDS prophet, David O. Top 3 Video Game Songs from 2011

"Goddess' Theme" Let's listen to this one first, shall we?  The "Ballad of the Goddess," is the main heroic theme from  Skyward Sword , and with good reason. Since viewing the game trailer for the first time, I was struck by how immediately iconic this theme felt, how it conjured feelings of adventure, purpose, and more than anything, of  motion . I totally geeked out when I saw  this  video , which reveals that the Goddess Ballad is actually just Zelda's Lullaby played in reverse. +1000 XP for AWESOMENESS! "To The Moon" Theme There's a place deep inside me that rarely gets touched, moved. Too much of life is filled with the ordinary and mundane, we are surrounded by it, we choke on it. The moment I heard these first few simple notes I was swept to that place. The music has the ability to make the world stop for that brief moment when you listen to it. "The soundtrack is all inclusive, all immersive and utterly ca...
